The Pits (definitely not the Service Park)
The pit area for the two days was in McPhillamy Park at the top of the Mount Panorama circuit. It provided adequate room for all competitors, as well as toilets and even showers for anyone who camped overnight. Despite heavy rain on Saturday night there was only one patch which looked a bit boggy the next day but it was easily driven through (it was at the entrance to the area and only needed to be negotiated twice - coming in and going out).
